Shibden Hall Wedding

I was so excited when I got this wedding enquiry! With Shibden Hall literally a stones throw from my house, and being a fan of the Gentleman Jack TV series, I couldn’t wait to photograph this wedding! Milly and Sue opted for a smaller wedding surrounded by their families, they wanted a ceremony in Shibden Hall, followed by a champagne picnic and boating on the lake! Perfect!

After a fab ceremony in the hall with readings from their families and music from Rocky Horror, it was time for confetti and fizz in the gardens - as the weather had taken a bit of a chilly turn, the lovely staff at Shibden set up a table and chairs in the old Aisled Barn where they enjoyed their picnic lunch.

Food time over, we wandered through the grounds of Shibden down to the boating lake for a romantic boat ride, where they realised its a lot trickier to row a boat than they first thought!

Anne Lister at Shibden Hall

Shibden Hall dates back to the 1400’s and has recently enjoyed a boom of visitors thanks to the TV adaptation of the life of its most famous resident, 19th Century diarist Anne Lister. Because of this its popularity as a wedding venue has had a sudden growth - Weddings at the hall are limited due to it being open as a visitor attraction, so if you’re fancying your wedding at Shibden Hall then you best get an available date snapped up quickly!

Thanks for having me Milly & Sue, what an amazing day!
