A Fun Family Wedding At Blossom Barn

I can’t wait to share this gorgeous wedding with you! It’s a beauty from start to finish and features one of my favourite local venues, Blossom Barn over in Holmfirth, Huddersfield.

I joined Nike and the girls who were getting ready nearby in a gorgeous house at Smallshaw Cottage Spa, while my lovely second photographer Zoe went to hang out with the lads who were also getting ready at the same cottages, there was a lot of sneaking about going on! 

Getting ready near each other meant their lovely doggy could spend the morning getting fussed by them both before the fab wedding dog sitter from Bow Wow Vow could come and take care of her for the day! 

I love working with a second shooter, I love that couples can look back over their photos together and see what each other was getting up to throughout the morning of the wedding! Plus it means more documentary coverage and lots more fun photos throughout the day!

Blossom Barn is such a gorgeous and versatile venue - aside from the barn itself, there is a gorgeous outdoor area with field space for a tipi or marquee, a fire-pit for cosy evening blanket snuggles, and the option to add food trucks and bars, you can really build your dream day! 

The ceremony space within the barn is beautifully rustic. I love that Nike and Sam chose to keep the decor nice and simple, with pot plants and greenery lining the aisle and a gorgeous twinkly light backdrop to the ceremony. The ceremony itself was led by an amazing celebrant Lucy Sonia, who created such a personal and emotional service. If you’re unsure of the kind of ceremony you would like, I would highly recommend looking into using a celebrant, creating your own ceremony and telling your own story really makes it special.

Ceremony done and confetti flung, it was time to relax and enjoy drinks from the caravan cocktail bar! After a tasty meal and some cracking speeches I took the happy couple around the grounds of Blossom Barn for some alone time photos as the sun went down. A little bit of time to quietly reflect on a perfect day.

Finally, it was dancefloor and evening pizza time! These guys know how to throw a party, even Grandma was up on the dance floor (after reapplying her lippy!)
